Roberta Susan Kindle (born 1976), more commonly known as Bobbie Sue Kindle, is an English teacher, local librarian, journalist for the Coxville Times and a devout Catholic from Coxville. A supporting character of the story, her chapter appearances involves mostly the worldbuilding and lore of the story and her relationship with her black lover, Melvin.

At the start of the story, she looks into the curse as a result of a lightning-struck tree in the middle of town, but as she research Betty Cox' confession and Father Murphy's journal, she decides to test the validity of the curse, unknowingly succumbing to it and seduces Melvin to disprove the curse.
